About Villach

Not many places in the world have their local festival beamed live on national TV, but you do here. This beautiful, little known town on the Drau River, is one of the top ten largest in Austria, with a population over over 60,000 people. It dates back to beyond Roman times, so has plenty of history.

like most of Austria, you have a couple of nearby ski resorts at Gerlitzen and Arnoldstein, to practice your stem-christe, parallels or boarding techniques

The nearest airport is Klagenfurt, about thirty miles away, so you can do a one way rental, if car not needed for entire trip, or popping over the border to Italy.

One of it's claims to fame, is being awarded the first ever Alpine Town of the Year, back in the late nineties.

The town dates back to Roman times, so plenty to see and do.
