The Bahrain International Airport is on the most northern partof the island, just above the city of Manama. Research well and take your pick from a number of high end resorts. You need to find out if the beach you are going to is a public or private beach.

Lets all go up in Smoke! Well the Mountain of Smoke that is, but as just over 400 feet, being the highest point on the island, it is more of a hill. Apparently it does get a bit misty. Apart of petroleum and metal, banking is a big industry here.
Bahrain had a treaty with the UK until 1971 and is mainly a flat country with some higher bits. The capital city is Manama.
Bahrain consists of thirty three islands, with Bahrain Island being the largest. You can drive to Saudi Arabia.
The F1 Grand Prix Motor Racing is now a regular on the circuit, but as usual Football is the most played and watched sport. Bird watching is also popular, as there a few hundred different species to be found spread though the islands.
Islam is the dominant religion as mainly a Muslim people and just under 1.3 million reside in Bahrain with more than half being foreign nationals working in oil and gas.
