About Coventry

This city is renowned for her two cathedrals, one of which was incinerated during the Second World War. The blitz of Coventry saw Herman Goering spawn the new word, coventrated, which means devastating a town by military attack.

Coventry is also, known for Lady Godiva riding bare back on a horse through the streets.

If your friends send you to Coventry, then it is an English saying for nobody will talk to you. The origin is not exactly clear, although during the English Civil War, there was a prison here, where you were apparently sent to, never to be seen again.

Coventry is also home to the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena.
