Apart from Heathrow & Gatwick Airports, the only Alamo depots open on a Sunday in London are:- Marble Arch and Victoria Coach Station. All vehicles come with all cover needed, like mileage, breakdown & Collision Damage Waiver reductions, so you just have the local excess deposit to consider, which you usually reduce to zero locally, or cover any claim by taking our excess cover insurance, or leave it and risk the car park scrape, but taking out insurance always the best option.

One way car rentals are possible, but a charge applies. Varies on each UK car rental supplier, but usually about GBP50, but is included in price when booking. For example you can collect in the West End and for a small extra fee, you can leave it in the East End.

Please also note, that the downtown depots are shut for holidays and most on Sundays, so cars get scarce, quickly. Extras like child seats, drivers and Sat Nav can be requested, but are paid for locally.

All the prices have unlimited mileage, breakdown and collision damage waiver/reduction (CDW) included. Insurance to either cover claims is available, or you can pay extra on collection to reduce to either zero, or a lower amount.

Saturday Car Hire in London

City Airport, is Meet & Greet service, so must fly into the airport, and not collect your hire car by just walking in to the depot. Again, Victoria Station is the depot of choice, if need a car after the standard Alamo Saturday closing time of 1300H, as open until 1930H. Marble Arch is open until 4pm.

Suggest choose Victoria Coach Station, as open all year round,(except bank holidays) from 0730H to 1930H, whereas Marble Arch shuts 1400H, and opens in summer months only.

You cannot collect your car outside of these hours, although some depots will allow out of hours returns. However, if you do return your rental car out of hours, you are still liable for any damage, until depot opens.

Apart from the major airports, all Alamo, National and Europcar depots are closed on bank holidays, and as most depots do not have drop boxes, then car has to be returned when depot open.

If booking car rental in London for Xmas, then it may be cheaper to return the car to an airport, and pay the extra one way fee.
