We use companies like Air Auto, Bravacars, Centauro, Drive On Holidays, Enterprise, Firefly, Interrent, Master Kings, Sadorent, Auto Jardim, Goldcar and Guerin, and others.

Our Portuguese partners have depots at Faro, Lisbon and Oporto Airports, as well as downtown locations and throughout the Algarve and Portugal.

All our discounted rates include mileage, insurance CDW and roadside assistance, that you would get by going direct, but through us you get a better deal.

Zero Excess included Portugal

Look for additional rates (Green Zero Excess logo) with Centauro, Guerin, Master Kings and Surprice, where Zero Excess is included in the higher pre-paid rental price. Even though zero excess, some suppliers still require a fully refundable security deposit, ranging form EUR300, or EUR500 upwards but Centauro have Zero Excess / Zero Deposit on all their cars.

No monies held on card locally

If want zero excess with no funds held against your card, then book Centauro through us at a lower price than they publish.

If not mind an security excess of EUR300 on smaller cars (max EUR1000) held on you card, then for Zero Excess, Master Kings usually have the cheaper rental prices.

Reduced Excess

Autoclick are another company offering two sets of rates, for same car, one with a lower excess rate, starting from about EUR150, compared to EUR1300+ on the cheaper cars.

Airport Tax at FAO, LIS & OPO

Airport tax is payable locally, except where a supplier, like Centauro, offers a Meet & Greet service to take you to their depot close to the airport.

Local Extras

Then there are extras like child seats and additional drivers to consider, which can make a cheap car, get expensive.

Driving in Portugal

Renting with no excess is advisable, and cheaper to pre-pay now, than pay extra insurance, which is an option locally. However, this does not cover everything, so we advise the purchase of our additional excess cover insurance.

This will cover any claim on the damage and theft excess. It also has additional cover damage to windows, underside and tyres.

Delivery to your hotel is also possible.

Motorway Tolls

These roads are no longer free to travel on. The A22 in the Algarve, the A23 in Torres Novas-Guarda, the A24 in Viseu-Chaves and the A25 in Vilar Formoso-Aveiro.

These motorways will only have overhead gantry systems and they will not have toll booths, or machines on the motorway so you can pay as you go.

You must pre-buy credits, or face fines.

Around & About in Portugal

Faro Airport is the main starting point for many tourists, who flock to this region. It helps you enjoy the marvellous sunshine, delightful seafood and fine wines, to mention just a few of the delights.

However vehicles can be collected from downtown Faro if prefer to relax after your flight.

Porto (or Oporto) is Portugal's second largest city. It is quite industrious and not a tourist destination. But, as they say in Portugal "Porto works".

Get away from the turmoil and take in some stunning scenery, like taking take a cruise up river.

InLisbon most tourists pickup their wheels at the airport. You can then explore the remote and beautiful areas of the Algarve and southern Portugal. If you are staying a few nights in Lisbon, do make a point of driving to Belem or Sintra, as both are within easy reach.

In Madeira , we can help you save if flying to Funchal Airport. Collect at either the airport or in the town, or have delivered to your hotel or villa.

On the Azores our discounted prices are available on all the main islands, but renting your vehicle at the Ponta Delgada Airport is the usual option. Minivans also tend to be cheaper when booked through these suppliers.
If prefer not to collect you car at, say, Faro Airport, and perhaps you going to Albufeira, to enjoy the delights of the Old Town and The Strip,then it is possible to get your holiday auto in the city, and then after your trip has come to an end. you can leave it at the airport. An extra fee will apply, but this is included in the rental cost shown.
