CDW Excess Reduction & Cover

Like most car hire, there will be CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) which is an excess amount of around EUR1,000 (can vary on vehicle size), and this will be held against your credit card, for any possible internal, or external, damage to your vehicle.

To reduce the risk of being charged, you have two options:- (1) reduce the amount (usually to zero), by paying extra insurance on arrival, or (2) take out excess insurance cover from GBP2.99/day, but the excess amount will still be held against your card. Excess insurance does also offer other benefits, and either an annual or single trip cover is recommended.

The two airports in Bucharest are Otopeni Airport (IATA code OTP, also know as Henri Coanda) and Banessa Airport (BBU), also referred to as Auriel Vlaicu).

The code BUH refers to both airports, so check ticket for correct airport.
