About Torquay

The town is on the southern coast of Devon, and has a harbour. Agatha Christie was born here.

This seaside town may not have hordes of wildebeest swarming across the plain, as per the famous line in Fawlty Towers (based on a Torquay hotel owner), but is does have a lot to offer holiday makers and surfers.

It is regarded as the English Riviera, and also a place place to hop across the Channel to start your journey to the French Rivera, but catching a ferry from nearby Plymouth.

The local football team are currently not in the Football League, but were recently.
